The past couple of days our church staff has been on retreat talking through 2011 and our desire to be a “Dangerous Church”. What a great place to be. I’m am convicted that this is my church where it is never to late to do it right. Are you in a place where you are allowed to take a risk for Jesus? Being a ‘dangerous’ person and/or a dangerous church requires that you live as world changers for Jesus.
1 Now when they had passed through Amphipolis and Apollonia, they came to Thessalonica, where there was a synagogue of the Jews.2 And Paul went in, as was his custom, and on three Sabbath days he reasoned with them from the Scriptures,3 explaining and proving that it was necessary for the Christ to suffer and to rise from the dead, and saying, “This Jesus, whom I proclaim to you, is the Christ.”4 And some of them were persuaded and joined Paul and Silas, as did a great many of the devout Greeks and not a few of the leading women.5 But the Jews were jealous, and taking some wicked men of the rabble, they formed a mob, set the city in an uproar, and attacked the house of Jason, seeking to bring them out to the crowd.6 And when they could not find them, they dragged Jason and some of the brothers before the city authorities, shouting, “These men who have turned the world upside down have come here also…
NOTES from the Acts 17 passage.
- Willing to Move forward when Jesus is all they know.
- Change is embraced and celebrated not avoided!
- They aren’t known for playing it safe.
- They actually believe they can change the world!
As a Jesus believer and follower it is time to believe it and act upon it. What will you do today and/or in coming days that shows you are dangerous for Jesus? Where in your sphere of influence in the shooting, hunting, archery, and outdoor community can you boldly live dangerously for the name of Jesus.
